The operations department of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) hope to further cooperate with its Vietnamese counterpart from the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) in personnel training and information exchanges in fields of mutual interests.
General Vong Veasna, Director of Cambodia’s operations department under the RCAF’s High Command, made the remarks during a meeting with Chief of the VPA’s General Staff and Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty in Hanoi on July 20.
He said the two operations departments have maintained regular delegation and information exchanges, fulfilling the missions of the two countries’ armies.
Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty highlighted the growing friendship and wide-ranging cooperation between the two countries in recent years.
Relevant agencies and units under the two countries’ defence ministries are actively implementing the contents featured in the Protocol on bilateral defence cooperation between 2015 and 2019, he noted.
Bilateral collaboration in personnel training and all-level delegation exchanges is efficient and makes important contributions to strengthening relations between the two countries and armies, he added.-VNA
Vietnamese veterans honoured for assistance to Cambodia
Cambodian Ambassador to Vietnam Hul Phany expressed thanks to Vietnamese volunteer soldiers for their support to the Cambodian victory over the genocidal Pol Pot regime in 1979 at a gathering of the veterans in Hanoi on April 12.
