Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam stands ready to share experience with Cuba in areas of mutual interest, including food production and renewable energy, said Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee.
Receiving Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Rogelio Polanco Fuentes in Hanoi on May 27, Chien expressed his delight at the continuously growing cooperative friendship between Vietnam and Cuba, a relationship diligently cultivated by generations of leaders from both countries.
He emphasised that the Vietnamese Party, State, and people always highly appreciate the sincere and wholehearted support that Cuba extended to Vietnam during the past struggle for national independence and throughout its current process of national development.
Chien expressed strong belief that, under the wise and steadfast leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Cuban people will continue to achieve new successes in building socialism.
Discussing cooperation between the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Committees for the Defence of the Revolution of Cuba, Chien reaffirmed that the VFF values and is committed to maintaining and fostering the long-standing traditional relationship with its Cuban counterpart.
Building on the cooperation agreement between the VFF Central Committee and the Committees for the Defence of the Revolution of Cuba for the 2023–2028 period, both sides pledged to implement practical and meaningful activities, such as delegation exchanges and experience sharing, to strengthen the ties between the two nations and their people. A particular emphasis was placed on educating younger generations about the enduring friendship between Vietnam and Cuba. Both parties aim to enhance cooperation in key areas such as economy, trade, investment, agriculture, healthcare, and energy.
The VFF President expressed his confidence that during his tenure in Vietnam, the Ambassador will work closely with relevant Vietnamese agencies to promote substantive cooperation, further solidifying the traditional relationship between the VFF Central Committee and the Committees for the Defence of the Revolution of Cuba.
