Hanoi (VNA) – France wants to share its experience in administrative reform with Vietnam, especially in assessing public policies, applying digital tools in administrative reform, and drafting and implementing laws relating to territorial planning, said French Ambassador to Vietnam Bertrand Lortholary.

The diplomat made the remarks at a symposium on administrative reform jointly held by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA), the French Embassy, and France’s National School of Administration.

Vietnam and France share similar difficulties in administrative reform, as well as strong commitments and resolve to reform administrative processes, he said, noting that their bilateral cooperation in this field is expected to be expanded in the time ahead.

Nguyen Duy Bac, Deputy Director of HCMA, said the Vietnamese Party and State have considered administrative reform as central to the renovation of the State apparatus.

The Vietnamese Government has also paid due attention to administrative reform to build a government that works to serve its people and businesses, he said, noting that France’s experience in administrative reform will provide valuable lessons for Vietnam.

Echoing Bac’s views, Nguyen Minh Phuong, Deputy Rector of the Hanoi University of Home Affairs, said the Government has set forth many new and innovative solutions in management and issued programmes and resolutions on administrative reform.

The participants focused on issues including subjects for administrative reform, IT application in administrative reform, administrative reform methods, and challenges to the work.

At the symposium, the French side introduced France’s 2022 plan on public administrative transparency. –VNA
