Vietnam, Germany to tighten judicial cooperation

Vietnam and Germany are set to increase cooperation in justice and related areas after a recent Germany visit by a Vietnamese delegation of justice ministry from July 4-9.
Vietnam and Germany are set to increase cooperation in justice and related areas after a recent Germany visit by a Vietnamese delegation of justice ministry from July 4-9.

The delegation, led by Minister of Justice Ha Hung Cuong, had several working sessions in Hessen state, visited the Federal Justice Ministry in Berlin , visited and worked with the Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig .

In the state of Hesse, Minister Cuong had talks with Joerg Uwe Hahn, Minister of Justice, Integration and European Affairs of the State of Hesse .

Both sides discussed a cooperation programme for the 2011-2015 period, including cooperation in training of law and legal titles such as judges and notaries. They also exchanged the organisational systems and operations of executive agencies in Germany and experiences in the supervision of law implementation.

Minister Cuong praised the Hessen support for Vietnam in the implementation of judicial and legal reforms, saying it is a strong back-up for the development of a multi-faceted cooperation between Hesse and Vietnam in the coming time.

In Berlin , the Vietnamese delegation worked with a German federal delegation of justice led by Minister Sabine Leutheusser Schnarrenberger.

Both sides expressed delight at the increasing cooperation between the two nations, laying stress on the importance of activities to celebrate the 35 th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Germany .

The two ministers discussed the possibilities of conduting negotiations for a judicial assistance agreement between Vietnam and Germany .

During the visit, the Vietnamese delegation also visited Leipzig city and exchanged experiences with representatives of the Federal Administrative Court./.
