Vietnam in top three economies with fastest growth in Asia
According to the Asian Development Outlook report by the Asian Development Bank, the Vietnamese economy will continue to enjoy strong growth with GDP growth expected to reach 7.1 percent this year.

Vietnam’s gross domestic product (GDP) in the first quarter of 2018 rose 7.38 percent, the highest growth rate over the past ten years, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).
Vietnam’s economy enjoyed a more sustainable growth in the first quarter of the year with a strong economic expansion of 7.38 percent, the best first-quarter performance in the last decade.
Moody’s Investors Service said that Vietnam’s real GDP growth will remain robust, averaging 6.7 percent in 2018, in its annual credit analysis released on April 3.
Vietnam’s labour productivity is very low compared with growth need, thus raising productivity is the key to economic growth, experts said at a conference on April 13.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) projected Vietnam’s economy to grow by 6.6 percent this year and 6.5 percent the following year in a recent report.
