The courts of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia have agreed to increase the sharing of experience in preventing and fighting crimes by improving knowledge on legal issues and judgment in each country.

The agreement was reached during the third court conference between border provinces of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, which wrapped up in the Lao capital of Vientiane on December 26 after two days of sitting.

The conference issued a joint statement emphasising the need for the three countries to join hands in seeking measures to prevent cross-border crimes and boost mutually beneficial collaboration in line with their laws as well as international practice.

Over the past time, the nations signed bilateral treaties related to crime prevention, which are considered an important tool for their courts to perform tasks.-VNA
