Hanoi (VNA) – The Theoretical Council of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and the Lao National Council for Social Sciences signed a cooperation agreement in Hanoi on November 27.
The signatories are Permanent Vice Chairmen of the two councils Phung Huu Phu and Xukongxeng Xaynhalot.
Accordingly, the councils will coordinate with the Commission for External Relations and relevant agencies of the two countries’ parties to organise annual theoretical seminars rotationally, while exchanging delegations, experience and research outcomes.
The same day, Xukongxeng Xaynhalot, who is also President of the Lao National Social Science Institute, was received by Nguyen Xuan Thang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) and Vice Chairman of the Theoretical Council.
Phu suggested his academy and the Lao council share experience in fields under their charge, contributing to tightening Vietnam-Laos special solidarity.
He informed his hosts about outcomes of the recently-concluded fourth sitting of the 14th National Assembly, during which Vietnamese legislators decided on many important issues.
Xukongxeng Xaynhalot congratulated Vietnam on achievements the country has recorded, especially its hosting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Week and APEC Year 2017 in general.
He expresses his hope that Vietnam will continue its support to Laos in training officials and managers, and scientific research, contributing to completing theories of the two Parties and States. -VNA
