Vietnam, Laos step up science-technology cooperation

Vietnamese Minister of Science and TechnologyNguyen Quan and his Lao counterpart Boviengkham Vongdala expressedsatisfaction at the cooperation activities in intellectual property,human resources development, and legal infrastructure for radiationsafety, helping Laos fulfil its duties as a member in theInternational Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Vietnamhas helped Laos in building compost and microbial organicfertiliser manufacturing factories in Sayaboury province as well as anumber of projects between Vietnamese and Lao provinces to improvepersonnel competence and facilitate technological transfer.

The Vietnamese side will continue to assist the Lao side in buildinglegal documents in the field of science and technology, while devisingjoint projects in the fields of agriculture, biotechnology, informationtechnology, telecom, and geographical information.-VNA
