The new Vietnamese Ambassador to the Principality of Monaco, DuongChi Dung, presented his credentials to Monaco’s Prince Albert II on Feb.12.
At the presentation ceremony, Ambassador Dungunderlined that Vietnam ’s leaders and people always treasureVietnam-Monaco relations, which have developed rapidly since theestablishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2007.
He said he hopes that both countries will continueto step up cooperation in every area for mutual benefit of people fromboth countries.
Dung used the opportunity toconvey an invitation from President Truong Tan Sang to Prince AlbertII to visit Vietnam .
Prince AlbertII spoke of his sentiments towards Vietnam and its people andrecalled memories of his 1997 trip to Vietnam . He praised Vietnam’s achievements in national construction and development.
He also pledged to continue to strengthen relations and cooperationbetween both countries, particularly in the exchange of information,culture, tourism, oceanography and environmental protection.
Prince Albert II said he hopes to have the chance to visit Vietnam again soon.
As scheduled, Ambassador Dung held meetings with Monaco ’s ForeignMinister José Badia and other senior Monaco officials./.
