Hanoi (VNA) – Member of the Party Central Committee and General Director of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) Nguyen Duc Loi on November 25 had working sessions with officials of the Mekong Delta localities of Can Tho and Soc Trang to strengthen information cooperation.

During his meeting with Secretary of the Soc Trang province’s Party Committee Lam Van Man, General Director Loi briefed the province’s leaders on VNA’s building and development, with it now having representative offices in all the 63 provinces and cities nationwide, and 30 nations and territories around the world.

The agency can promote the image of Soc Trang, he said, hoping that both sides would sign a cooperation agreement on information dissemination.

Man expressed his hope that the VNA will continue to support the locality in promoting its communication work, contributing to attracting more investment for the locality’s socio-economic development.

The two sides agreed to speed up the signing of an information cooperation agreement for 2021-2025.

Meeting with representatives of Can Tho city’s Party Committee on the same day afternoon, Loi said he hopes that the municipal authorities will continue to provide official information for press agencies, including the VNA.

For his part, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Phan Van Hieu hoped to continue receiving support of press agencies, including the VNA, thus helping Can Tho promote its image as well as lure investment towards becoming a core city in the southwest region.

The two sides took the occasion to discuss a plan to enhance information cooperation in the 2021-2025 period./.
