The Hanoi Youth Union has made full use of social networks and utilised technology to promote the image of their members taking part in activities relating to the upcoming election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels.
According to Article 7 of the 2013 Constitution and Article 1 of the Law on Election of National Assembly Deputies and People's Council Deputies, the election is conducted in compliance with four principles.
The elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly (NA) and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure are an important political event of Vietnam and a festival of its people. Preparations for election day on May 23 have now been basically completed.
Early voting took place on Hon Chuoi island, off the coast of southernmost Ca Mau province, and certain remote constituencies in central Quang Binh province on May 21, two days ahead of the election day.
The elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and the People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure on May 23 is an opportunity for the Vietnamese people to express their voices over such important issues as the nation’s leadership and the strengthening of local governments’ apparatus, said Professor Carl Thayer, an expert from Australia’s New South Wales University.
Vietnam is a bright spot in terms of diversity and balance in gender and ethnicity in its law-making body, said Supalak Ganjanakhundee, an expert from Thailand’s Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS) said in an interview with the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Bangkok.
