Vietnam reports 8,758 new COVID-19 infections, over 23,500 recoveries

Vietnam recorded an additional 8,758 COVID-19 infections, including 14 imported cases, in the past 24 hours to 5pm on September 29, according to the Ministry of Health.

Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam recorded an additional 8,758COVID-19 infections, including 14 imported cases, in the past 24 hours to 5pmon September 29, according to the Ministry of Health.
 
Ho Chi Minh City, the country’s current largestpandemic hotspot, reported the highest number of infections with 4,699 cases,followed by neighbouring Binh Duong province (2,389), Dong Nai (899), Long An(132) and Soc Trang (112). The capital city reported four cases.
 
The country has to date logged 779,398 COVID-19cases.

A total of 23,568 patients were given the all-clear on September 29, raisingthe number of recoveries to 583,509.

As many as 162 deaths related to the pandemic were announced on the day,raising the tally to 19,098.

On September 28, 1,097,044 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were injected, bringingthe total so far to 41,153,041./.

PM releases instructions as measles cases increase

Vietnam has recorded nearly 40,000 suspected measles cases and five measles-related deaths since the beginning of this year. The southern region reported the highest number of cases (57%), the central region accounted for 19.2%, the north 15.1%, and the Central Highlands 8.7%.
