Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Hanoi on January 24 to develop the support industry.

Under the document, Vietnamese experts will join a professional training programme in the RoK that will help the two sides boost development cooperation in the support industry and enhance human resources exchanges.

According to Korean Deputy Minister of Knowledge Economy Kim Jae-hong, the two sides will further intensify cooperation in many fields, especially in the sectors of textile and garment, engineering and electronics.

Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Le Duong Quang said support industry cooperation is a new step in the relationship between the two nations, which will help the Vietnamese Government implement industrialisation and modernisation policies.

At the signing ceremony, the Korea Industrial Technology Association and the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) also signed an MoU on expertise support.-VNA
