Vietnam and Russia have declared to bolster their comprehensive strategic partnership by speeding up agreements and prioritised joint projects in politics, economics-trade, defence-security, and humanitarian affairs.
This came from the two countries’ eighth annual strategic dialogue, co-chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister Ho Xuan Son and his Russian counterpart I. Morgulov in Saint Petersburg during the former’s visit to Russia from September 28-October 1.
Son had an exchange with the first Deputy Foreign Minister V. Titov in Moscow.
The two sides highly valued positive developments of the comprehensive strategic partnership in recent time and activities celebrating the 65 th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties.
They stressed the need for accelerating locality connectivity and enhancing bilateral cooperation in regional economic links.
Touching upon regional and international issues of shared concern, the two sides underscored stronger collaboration and affiliation at multilateral forums and international organisations as well as in maintaining peace and stability in Asia-Pacific.
In Russia, Deputy Minister Son visited Saint Petersburg University and its Ho Chi Minh Institute.
He expressed his hope that the Ho Chi Minh Institute, established in 2010, and Saint Petersburg will work more for the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Russia.-VNA
