Vietnam, Russia to increase strategic partnership

Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Cuong met his Russian counterpart Alexei N. Borodavkin in Moscow on Feb. 21 to convey a letter of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung to Russian PM V. Vladimir Putin.

Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Cuong met his Russian counterpart Alexei N. Borodavkin in Moscow on Feb. 21 to convey a letter of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung to Russian PM V. Vladimir Putin.

The letter mentioned some important contents to boost and increase the Vietnam-Russia strategic partnership in the new period.

Deputy FM Borodavkin said Russia valued the Vietnamese PM’s move to send his special envoy to convey a letter to PM Putin, which, Borodavkin said, showed a special trust in the relationship between the two countries’ leaders.

He said Russian leaders were pleased to see the dynamic development of the Vietnam-Russia strategic partnership in the recent past and will continue to work closely with Vietnam to expand and deepen bilateral ties to serve the cause of development and modernisation of the two countries.
