Vietnam salutes Lao Party anniversary

The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee has sent a message of congratulations to the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee on the Lao Party’s 57 th founding anniversary.

Onthis occasion, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Ta Minh Chau also extendedhis congratulations to leaders of the LPRP, the Central Committee andall party members.

At his meeting on March 21 with BounponButtanavong, Politburo member and Secretary of the LPRP CentralCommittee, Ambassador Chau highlighted achievements recorded by the Laopeople under the leadership of the LPRP over the past 57 years.

Hesaid he believes that the Lao fraternal people will continue obtaininggreater achievements, successfully implementing their 9 th PartyCongress’ Resolution.

The diplomat affirmed that Vietnam willdo its best to together with the Lao Party, State and people foster thetwo countries’ special relationship, with a focus on the implementationof programmes in the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year, 2012.

BounponButtanavong said the achievements by the Lao people over the past 57years could not be separated from Vietnam ’s impartial and effectiveassistance.

Also the same day, Ambassador Chau conveyed flowersand a congratulatory message from the CPV General Secretary Nguyen PhuTrong to LPRP General Secretary and State President Chummaly Saynhasone.-VNA

To further strengthen Vietnam-Belgium relations, especially parliamentary cooperation, both sides agreed to enhance delegation exchanges at all levels, particularly between parliamentary committees and friendship groups. They also pledged to share legislative and supervisory experience, coordinate positions in international organisations, support each other’s candidacies for UN bodies, and effectively implement the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
