Hanoi (VNA) – A delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela, headed by Ambassador Le Viet Duyen, has recently visited Monagas state to promote economic, trade and investment ties and other potential cooperation initiatives between the two countries. At a working session with the delegation, Governor of Monagas Ernesto Luna committed that the state authorities will establish working groups to increase contact with the embassy in connecting Vietnamese and Venezuelan businesses and promoting specific cooperation and investment projects.
For his part, Duyen lauded Monagas’s achievements in politics, economy, and culture and vowed to foster commercial ties between the two nations in general and between Vietnam and Monagas in particular based on their traditional solidarity and friendship.
He highlighted his wish to expand Vietnam’s agricultural cooperation project to Monagas following its success in Guárico state.
During the trip, the embassy held a workshop to promote the trade of key Vietnamese products with the participation of local leaders and about 40 officials and businessmen.
After introducing Vietnam’s socio-economic development achievements after 35 years of Doi Moi (Renewal), Duyen said there are abundant opportunities for Venezuelan consumers to use Vietnamese products.
He stressed that as Vietnam is among the biggest woodworking production centres in the world, Venezuela, including Monagas, can export their timber to Vietnamese producers.
Also on this occasion, the Vietnamese Embassy coordinated with the Venezuela-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce (CAVENVIET) to run a Vietnamese stall at the annual Exposur Monagas Fair./.
