At the forum, Thao joined 500 representatives of 104 political parties from 23 nations to discuss and approve nearly 30 resolutions, action programmes and a joint declaration condemning conspiracies of hostile forces against constitutional governments in the region while welcoming the decision to reopen a Cuban embassy in Washington D.C. and a US embassy in Havana.

They spoke highly of the friendship between their parties with the Vietnamese Party and hoped for intensified collaboration through delegation exchanges and information and experience sharing.

Thao was also received by General Secretary of the Mexican Labour Party Alberto Anaya Gutierrez, who reaffirmed his party’s consistent support for Vietnam in dealing with the East Sea issue and pledged to continue implementing cooperation programmes with the Communist Party of Vietnam and relevant offices.
