The second international Hanoi film festival themed “The unification and development of Asia – Pacific film industry” will take place in Hanoi from November 25-29, with nearly 1,000 domestic and foreign delegates taking part.

Ngo Phuong Lan, head of the Cinematography Department, said at a press briefing in Hanoi on September 27 that the opening ceremony will be broadcast live on November 25.

As many as 30 Vietnamese feature films, including “ Bi, dung so ” (Bi, don’t be afraid) by director Phan Dang Di, others featuring Hanoi, Vietnam’s renewal and those produced from 2010 until 2012, have been chosen for screening during this year’s event, thus promoting Vietnamese film industry to international friends.

Movie lovers will have a chance to enjoy documentaries from Asia, animation from Japan , feature films from France and the Republic of Korea as well as others by young directors worldwide.

The organising board has so far received over 200 films from 38 countries and territories for the contest, including 22 Vietnamese feature and short films.

On top of this, two seminars and an exhibition featuring achievements by the Vietnamese film sector during the renewal will be also held.-VNA
