The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) attaches importance to strengthening its friendship and solidarity with the Communist Party of Peru – Red Fatherland (CPP-RF), said a Vietnamese Party senior official.
Truong Tan Sang, Politburo member and permanent member of the CPV Central Committee Secretariat, made the statement while receiving a CPP-RF delegation headed by its President Alberto Moreno Rojas in Hanoi on July 22.
Sang spoke highly of the victories of the Latin American left-wing movement and the CPP-RF’s contributions to the process.
He expressed his belief that together with other progressive left-wing parties, the CPP-RF will gain greater achievements in the future and that the friendship and cooperation between the CPV and CPP-RF as well as the two countries’ people will further develop.
For his part, President Alberto Moreno Rojas said he admired the great achievements made by the Vietnamese people during the renewal process, considering them valuable experiences for communist and left-wing parties in Latin America and the world.
He expressed his belief that the CPV will successfully organise its XIth National Party Congress scheduled for next year as well as continue leading the people to harvest greater achievements during the national defence and construction and reach the goal of a rich people, a strong nation and a democratic, fair and civilised society.
He said he wished to see the friendship and cooperation between the two parties and two peoples further promoted.
On the same day, the Peruvian communists held talks with a CPV delegation led by Hoang Binh Quan, Head of the CPVCC’s Commission for Foreign Relations. The two sides agreed on measures to foster bilateral ties and grant practical assistance to both countries’ businesses to expand markets and seek cooperation opportunities, helping further strengthen the Vietnam-Peru relationship in the future./.
