Vietnam, UK Committed to boosting relations

At the signing ceremony, the twosides repeated the commitment to intensify bilateral ties in all fieldsmentioned in the 2010 strategic partnership agreement, which stressesJETCO as a mechanism to discuss important issues on trade and economicties.

They agreed JETCO has to reach specificresults and successes in trade to achieve the common targets that willstrengthen their bilateral trade relations and mark the 40 thanniversary of diplomatic ties next year.

Thoa saidthat the two sides reached a consensus in the establishment of a workinggroup on pharmaceutical products to discuss related issues andproposals to improve current regulations on intellectual property andmandatory registration of clinical trials.

In termsof mechanisms to solve disputes effectively, both sides agreed to boostdialogue between the International Cotton Association and relevantVietnamese companies.

Stockes pledged to continuesupporting Vietnam ’s financial services, including training inbanking, and aiding Vietnamese banks that want to establish operationsin the UK .

The two sides will assess theimplementation of JETCO 6’s commitments at quarterly meetings to be heldin Hanoi in 2013./. VNA
