Vietnam wins int’l left-wing community’s support

The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) representative won standing ovations at a recent workshop in Mexico, which drew 102 left-wing parties from Australia, Asia, Europe, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Vietnam was thespotlight of the workshop entitled “Political parties and a newsociety”, held by the Mexican Labour Party (PT) from March 11-13.

The entire 200-and-plus- strong audience stood up, shouting Long LiveVietnam and Thanks Vietnam after Pham Van Linh, deputy head of theCommission for Information and Education of the CPV Central Committee,finished a presentation of the Ho Chi Minh collection in Spanish.

The book, collecting articles written by Vietnam ’s first President,has been published by the Mexican Labour Party and is considered thebest so far.

Vietnam ’s image has been further promoted at an exhibition on theVietnamese land and people during renewal, which was held as part ofthe workshop.

The Vietnamese delegation also won heart of the host Party withcommitments made by its General Secretary Alberto Anaya Gutierrezduring their meeting on the sidelines of the workshop.

The PT leader reiterated a policy to gear relations with the CPV to abroader and stronger dimension through programmes of cooperation to tapstrengths of the two parties for mutual interest.

For his part, the Vietnamese head delegate expressed an aspiration toboost bilateral relations to a new height in an effort to fully cash inon their potential, especially in the areas of high competitive edges.

During their stay, the CPV delegation paid a floral tribute to the latePresident Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum in Mexico City./.

To further strengthen Vietnam-Belgium relations, especially parliamentary cooperation, both sides agreed to enhance delegation exchanges at all levels, particularly between parliamentary committees and friendship groups. They also pledged to share legislative and supervisory experience, coordinate positions in international organisations, support each other’s candidacies for UN bodies, and effectively implement the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
