All six Vietnamese students have won silvers at the 2014 Asia-PacificInformatics Olympiad, the Ministry of Education and Training announcedon May 18.
Of the medallist, four are from the University ofNatural Science’s High School for Gifted Students under the VietnamNational University-Hanoi. They are Do Xuan Viet and Ngo Hoang Anh Phuc,both 12th grader, and Do Ngoc Khanh and Nguyen Viet Dung, 11th grader.
Othersare Nguyen Phan Quang Minh, 12th grader at the Nguyen Trai HighSchool in northern Hai Duong province, and Tran Trong Dat, 12th graderthe Hanoi Amsterdam High School .
The onlinecompetition was hosted by Kazakhstan, drawing students from 29countries, competing at contest sites within their own countries.
Last year, Vietnam won one gold, one silver and three bronzes at the event hosted by Singapore.-VNA
