Vietnam woos Malaysian visitors

The tourism promotion programme aims to introduce Vietnam’s land and people, culture and its incentives for tourists.

Thegala night, co-held by the Vietnam Tourism Administration (VTA), theVietnamese Embassy in Malaysia and Malaysia’s Tourism Administration,was attended by officials as well as representatives from tourist agentsand the media of the two countries.

Pham Quang Hung, Head of theVTA’s International Cooperation Department, said Malaysia is Vietnam’stop market among ASEAN. Next year, the tourism industry will focus onMalaysia and Indonesia as these two regional markets are close toVietnam both in terms of geographical location and culture.

In2010, Vietnam expects to welcome some 5 million foreign visitors. Thecountry set a higher target for 2011, prioritising near markets whileexploring distant others.

However, according to Hung, touristservices should be improved and tourist guides should be trainedprofessionally in order to draw foreign visitors to return.

Thetourism promotion programme provided Vietnamese tourist businesses anopportunity to directly meet and work with Malaysian tourist companiesand agents to exchange information and discuss contracts./.

Quang Ninh boosts tourism with numerous events

The province will organise 170 cultural, sporting, and tourism events between April and September, with 24 at international, national, and provincial levels and 146 local activities, Vu Dai Thang, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, told a meeting on April 1.

Hue kicks off Visit Vietnam Year 2025

With the theme “Hue - Ancient Capital, New Opportunity,” Visit Vietnam Year 2025 aims to strengthen tourism linkages between Hue and other cities and provinces nationwide, while enhancing the image, position, and brand of Vietnamese tourism in general and that of the central city in particular. The programme will feature four main seasonal activity groups representing spring, summer, autumn, and winter, encompassing over 170 national and provincial-level events.

Binh Thuan eyes more Korean tourists
