Party inspection officials of Vietnam and Laos have shared theoretical views and practical experiences on a wide range of Party-building issues in Hanoi on January 21.

Topics covered included examination, inspection, and discipline in the Party with the aim of further enhancing the leadership and fighting capacity of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) in their own renewal process.

The talks were attended by Lao Deputy Prime Minister Asang Laoly, who is also Secretary of the LPRP Central Committee and Head of the Inspection Commission of the LPRPCC, as well as Nguyen Van Chi, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and Head of the Inspection Commission of the CPVCC.

Chi briefed his Lao counterpart on the recent activities of his commission, including inspections of matters of public concern, and measures the commission has taken to improve the efficiency of its operations.

He also told the Lao guests about his commission’s preparations for the 11th National Party Congress.

The Vietnamese official said this visit by the Lao Party inspection officials is the continuation of efforts to step up the implementation of cooperation agreements and orientations to tighten relations between the two commissions.

The visit would help to heighten the leading role held by the two parties in each country’s revolution and further foster the friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation established by their two late Presidents – Ho Chi Minh and Kaysone Phomvihane – which has been fostered by the two parties and people of various generations, Chi said.

The Lao official praised the CPV’s renewal achievements and experiences, including those in its inspection work, surveillance and organisational improvement.

He confirmed that the LPRP’s inspection officials would do their utmost to contribute to further strengthening and developing their country’s special ties with Vietnam.

At the talks, the Vietnamese and Lao officials reviewed cooperation between the two commissions in 2009 and discussed main orientations and specific measures to elevate their ties in future./.
