The Association of Vietnamese People in Berlin-Brandenburg opened a photo exhibition on Vietnam in Lichtenberg district, Berlin , on October 19.

Attending the opening ceremony were Pham Van Toan, First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany and the Chief of Lichtenberg district, Christina Emmrich.

On display are more than 40 large-sized colour photos taken by photographer Vu Tien Dung featuring all activities of Vietnamese generations in Berlin and Brandenburg , including cultural, sports and tourism activities.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Emmrich said the exhibition helps the German understand the life of the Vietnamese people, thus strengthening mutual understanding.

The 3,000-strong Vietnamese community in Lichtenberg has well integrated into the German society and made remarkable contributions to the district, she said, adding that Lichtenberg will continue cooperating with the Association of Vietnamese People to create favourable conditions for Vietnamese residents to have a stable and happy life in their second homeland.

The Vietnamese Embassy representative welcomed the initiative to organise the exhibition, describing it as a message to German friends of the lifestyle of the Vietnamese people in Lichtenberg in particular and in Germany in general./.
