Vietnamese scientists have joined their foreign colleagues at the 25thRencontres de Blois on Particle Physics and Cosmology held in France’s central city of Blois from May 26-31.
Underthe chair of Professor Jean Tran Thanh Van, President of the RencontresAssociation of Vietnam (Rencontres du Vietnam) in France, 144academicians and scientists from 27 countries and territories worldwide,heard scientific reports covering different themes, from appliedphysics, astronomy to biology.
They were also introduced to aproject to build an 18.4-hectare interdisciplinary science and educationcentre in Quy Nhon city, central Khanh Hoa province, which targetsyoung scientists in Vietnam .
Talking with theParis-based Vietnam News Agency correspondent, Vietnamese Ambassador toFrance Duong Chi Dung said the Blois meeting is a valuable venue forVietnamese and international scientists to meet, exchange experience,and promote cooperation.
On this occasion, thediplomat worked with Blois’ Governor Marc Gricourt and DeputyGovernor in charge of housing Odile Soules.
The two sides agreedto further cooperation between the city and Vietnam’s centralprovince of Thua Thien-Hue in cultural heritage preservation andenvironmental protection, as well as coordinate to organise theVietnamese Day in Blois and a series of activities to celebrate the40th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties and establish theVietnam-France strategic partnership.
AmbassadorDung also visited the Val de Loire National EngineeringUniversity, where 25 Vietnamese students are studying, and had ameeting with the overseas Vietnamese community in Blois city.-VNA
