Vietnamese student association in France holds fourth congress

The Vietnam Students’ Association in France will strengthen cooperation with the Vietnamese associations, union and other organisations in France in the next two-year period.
The Vietnam Students’ Association inFrance will strengthen cooperation with the Vietnamese associations,union and other organisations in France in the next two-yearperiod.

It will also accelerate the establishment of a network of Vietnamesescientists and experts in France to boost technological, scientificand economic cooperation between the two countries.

The association put forward its activity orientation for the 2010-2012tenure at the fourth congress in on France May 16-17.
During the 2008-2010 period, the association conducted variousactivities to introduce Vietnam’s culture to foreign friends andsupported victims of Agent Orange as well as provided scholarships fordisadvantaged students in Vietnam./.

Vietnam proposes key priorities for advancing gender equality

Sharing Vietnam’s achievements, Thanh noted that women account for nearly one-third of Vietnam’s National Assembly members; 40% of Vietnam’s STEM workforce is female; 26.5% of businesses in the country are owned by women; women account for 68.5% of the country’s labour force, surpassing the global average of 48.7% and 14.4% of Vietnam’s peacekeepers are women, higher than the UN average of 10.2%.
