Vietnamese students in Cambodia celebrate traditional New Year
Phnom Penh (VNA) – Vietnamese students in Cambodia on January 13 organised an event to celebrate the 2018 Lunar New Year.
The event was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Vu Quang Minh and Cambodian Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Hang Chuon Naron, along with overseas students from Vietnam and other countries like Laos, China, the Republic of Korea and Japan.
In his remarks, Minh said that Vietnamese students graduated in Cambodia have greatly contributed to Vietnam’s development as well as the friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
Lauding the contributions and academic achievements of Vietnamese students in the country, the Cambodian minister voiced his belief that the exchanged students will not only foster the development of the respective countries but also consolidate the bilateral traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation.
Vietnamese
students have spared no efforts to promote solidarity and maintain the cultural
identity and tradition of their home country, said Le Trung Kien, head of the
Vietnamese students in Cambodia.
Currently, more than 100 Vietnamese
students are studying at universities in Cambodia.-VNA
