Vietnamese young reporters experience winter game
Reporters from several IOF member states, including Vietnam, have a chance to experience the 2018 Winter Olympics taking place in Gangneung (which will host the indoor events), RoK from Feb 9-25.
Outside the Press Centre at the Winter Games (Source: VNA)Hanoi (VNA) – Reporters from several member states of the International Organisation of the Francophonie (IOF), including Vietnam, have a chance to experience the 2018 Winter Olympics taking place in Gangneung (which will host the indoor events), the Republic of Korea from February 9-25.
The press delegation also includes French-language journalists from Cambodia, Senegal and New Caledonia, which are members of the IOF’s Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific (BRAP).
IOF Secretary General Michaelle Jean noted the significance of French language to the Olympics Games’ history, as one of the two official languages of the event.
She welcomed the press delegation, saying the Francophonie community is a strategic partner of the Games.
The IOF official is present in the RoK to attend the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic Winter Games at the invitation of the International Olympic Committee.
She is scheduled to join the opening ceremony and meet with officials and athlete delegations from IOF members at the event.-VNA
