Kuala Lumpur (VNA) -
The Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia on September 11 held a grand ceremony to celebrate Vietnam's 75th National Day (September 2).

At the event, Vietnamese Ambassador Le Quy Quynh highlighted Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements and increasing prestige in the international arena when the country plays the role as the ASEAN Chair in 2020 and a non-permanent member of the United Nation Security Council.

He emphasised the country’s efforts to carry out the dual tasks of COVID-19 prevention and socio-economic development, saying they help the country successfully fight against the outbreak and become one of the few countries with positive economic growth.

The Party and State also pay due attention to the Vietnamese community in foreign countries, as they have asked relevant agencies to organise many flights to bring home Vietnamese expatriates who were stranded by the COVID-19 outbreak, including those in Malaysia.

As many Vietnamese have faced difficulties since Malaysia applied lockdown measures on March 18, Quynh called Vietnamese nationals to promote solidarity and support each other to overcome challenges./.
