Vietnam's cashew exports strives for world's top one
In 2020, despite adverse impacts from COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnam's cashew exports in the first 10 months of 2020 exceeded 422,000 tonnes, up 12% year-on-year.
The agro-forestry-fishery sector posted a trade surplus of over 7.9 billion USD in the first ten months of this year, up 10.7 percent year-on-year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has reported.
Vietnam has maintained its position as the world’s largest producer and exporter of cashew nuts in 2020, exporting an estimated 450,000 tonnes of cashew kernels worth 3.2 billion USD, according to the Vietnam Cashew Association (Vinacas).
Vietnamese exporters should further exploit the 28-member European Union to increase their market share in the promising region, Vietnam Trade Counsellor in Germany Bui Vuong Anh has said.
