Hanoi (VNA) - The Miracle Choir and Orchestra is Vietnam’s only representative in the Human Kind international charity single, released and distributed worldwide by Universal Music Operations.

Written by English songwriter Michael Solomon Williams, the founder of Common and Kind project, Human Kind aims to convey the message of music’s ability to bring communities together, and the dream of a better, peaceful world in which there are no divisions.

With quotations from John Donne (‘No man’s an island’) and Jo Cox (‘More in common’), the song was conceived to be adaptable for a wide range of musical genres and abilities. It was also designed so that it could be recorded across the world, creating an international music video that brings people together from all communities, cultures, nations and musical genres.

The main ingredient was recorded at the end of a vast collaborative concert held at the Union Chapel in London on August 2, 2016.  Choirs and soloists from across the world have also sent in their recordings of Human Kind.

The single includes inputs from Pihcintu, a choir combining refugees from Cambodia, China, Congo, El Salvador, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda, Vietnam, West Indies, Zambia, Northern Ireland, Scotland, India, Malaysia, the UK and the US.

The song also features guest soloists such as renowned musical actress-singer Cassidy Janson, Jonathan Hoard, Saida Tani, Sarah Connolly and Grammy winner Snarky Puppy.

Human Kind was recorded in London, New York and across the world, and released online on June 16 on all major online vendors and streaming platforms. The online sales proceeds will be donated to Musicians without Borders, Music Action International and Amnesty International.

By participating in the musical project, the Miracle choir and orchestra said it has sent its hope for a brighter future, and its beliefs that effort will always be made to heal humans and miracles will take place in souls in every corner of the world every day.

Established by artist couple, pianist Trang Trinh and conductor Park Sung Min, in 2013, the Miracle choir offers free classical music education to promote opportunity and development of underprivileged children.-VNA
