Vietnam’s foreign, defence policies introduced in Venezuela

The Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela has held an event to introduce Vietnam’s foreign and defence policies to relevant authorities of the host and foreign countries.

Buenos Aires (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela has heldan event to introduce Vietnam’s foreign and defence policies to relevant authorities of the host and foreign countries.

Ambassador Le Viet Duyen said that Vietnam's foreign policyplays an important role in creating and strengthening its foreign relations forinternational integration, contributing to facilitating its national building andsafeguard, and raising its position in the international arena.

The policy upholds the country’s active implementation of regional and internationalcommitments, and increases its role in building and forming multilateralinstitutions.

Vietnam is a friend, a reliable partner, and an active andresponsible member of the international community; promotes the preservation ofa peaceful and stable environment; and actively participates in and fulfills itsrole in multilateral mechanisms such as the Association of Southeast AsianNations (ASEAN), the United Nations, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation(APEC), and the Mekong sub-regional cooperation. It has to date establisheddiplomatic relations with 190 countries, including three special traditionalfriends, 17 strategic partners, and 13 comprehensive partners, including fourLatin American countries of Venezuela, Brazil, Chile, and Argentina, addedDuyen.

Meanwhile, Defence Attaché Col. VuThe Trung briefed participants on the nation’s National Defence White Paper,including organisational structure, and the defence policy.

Vicente Javier Mandujano Acevedo said that this activity helpedparticipants understand more about the country, people, as well as foreign anddefence policies of Vietnam, contributing to enhancing mutual trust as well as increasingopportunities for exchanges and cooperation between countries./.

The draft resolution seeks to lure more investment into cultural industries, aiming for the sector to contribute 7% to GDP by 2030 and 9% by 2045. It also sets ambitious goals of ranking Vietnam among the top three countries in Southeast Asia and the global top 30 for national soft power.

Pathways to double-digit growth to be tabled at 16th NA’s first session

In the morning sitting on April 20, deputies are expected to hear proposals and verification reports on a range of draft resolutions. The documents cover breakthrough mechanisms and policies for the development of Vietnamese culture; the establishment of Dong Nai as a centrally run city; a pilot framework for public lawyer institution; and special mechanisms to address land law violations committed prior to the 2024 Land Law taking effect, alongside measures to resolve long-delayed and stalled projects.

NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man’s working trip to Italy and Türkiye achieved important and comprehensive results at both bilateral and multilateral levels.
