Vietnam’s military delegation visits Brunei

A high-ranking Vietnamese military delegation led by Deputy National Defence Minister, Senior Lieutenant-General Nguyen Huy Hieu paid an official visit to Brunei from March 27-29.
A high-ranking Vietnamese military delegation led by Deputy NationalDefence Minister, Senior Lieutenant-General Nguyen Huy Hieu paid anofficial visit to Brunei from March 27-29.

During the three-day visit, the delegation met and held talks withDato Pakuda Haji Mustappa Haji Sirat, Brunei ’s Deputy Minister ofDefence. The two parties highlighted the fine bilateral relationship ondefence, which they said could match political relations between the twocountries.

The two sides expected to further fostercooperative relations in many fields under the agreement on defencecooperation signed in November, 2005. They also agreed to the exchangeof young officer exchanges, English language training, relief and rescueactivities and anti-piracy in the future.

DeputyMinister Nguyen Huy Hieu expressed his thanks to the Brunei Ministry ofDefence for its support for Vietnam to successfully organise militaryand defence meetings of ASEAN in 2010, especially the Fourth AseanDefence Ministers (ADMM-4) and the ASEAN Defence Minister’s Meeting -Plus (ADMM+) organised for the first time in Vietnam .

On the occasion, the delegation visited the third Battalion of the Royal Brunei Armed Force (RBAF)./.

Exhibition in Vientiane celebrates Vietnam–Laos friendship

Deputy PM hails success of State President’s recent Laos visit
