The General Statistics Office (GSO) estimated that the number ofinternet users in Vietnam saw a decrease of 500,000 from February tostand at 32.1 million in March.
This is the second consecutive months the number of Internet users has decreased.
In February, the number was 32.6 million, down 800,000 from January.
According to GSO, the number of new telephone subscribers in the firstquarter of this year was estimated at 2.6 million, up 35.3 % over thesame period last year, including 7.6 thousand fixed telephone subscribersand 2.5 million mobile phone subscribers.
By the end of March,the subscribed telephone users were estimated to total 134 million, arise of 3 percent over the same period last year.
Thefigure included 15.3 million fixed telephone subscribers, which saw adecrease of 1.6 percent year on year, and 118.7 million mobile phonesubscribers, which represented a rise of 3.6 percent year on year.-VNA
