The southern province of Kien Giang and the capital of Cambodia, PhnomPenh have signed an agreement to forge cooperation in economics,culture, health, crime prevention and other fields.
Part of the comprehensive cooperation programme agreed to by the twogovernments, the agreement aims to contribute to deepeningVietnam-Cambodia friendship and cooperation.
Underthe document, the two sides will promote comprehensive cooperation inthe fields of trade, tourism, agriculture, aquaculture, construction,public transport, science and technology and post and telecoms.
The two localities will encourage enterprises and investors to set uptrade centres, supermarkets and representative offices in both countriesand border areas.
They will establish favourableconditions for their tourism sectors to develop and organise exchangesand get-togethers to learn about the customs and traditional culture ofeach country.
Kien Giang province and PhnomPenh will also facilitate activities of the two sides’ health sectorsand mutually support professional training and charitable works in thisfield.
The localities will also strengthencooperation in crime prevention, including transnational crime, inaccordance with the two countries’ laws.-VNA
