The Vietnam-India Joint Working Group met in New Delhi from May 7-8 to discuss education and training cooperation between the two countries.
At the meeting, the participants discussed many issues of common concern such as their experiences of development and innovation in higher education, especially in information technology, nanotechnology, network security, bio-technology, oceanography, satellites and online education.
The talks also focused on developing training programmes in English on specialist subjects and how to promote studying the Vietnamese and Indian cultures.
The group urged universities and institutes in both countries to develop joint training programmes and scientific research as well as exchanging lecturer, students and educational managers.
They also agreed to set up a special working party to carry out the joint initiatives already agreed by both governments.
At the same time, the Vietnamese delegates met with several Indian enterprises that operate in training IT and network security, as they are keen to seek out investment opportunities in Vietnam.-VNA
