VN, Laos vow to mark border by 2012

Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister HoXuan Son, who is also Head of the National Border Committee and Chairmanof the Vietnam-Laos Joint Committee for Border Markers Planting, andBounkeut Sangsomsack, Lao Deputy Foreign Minister, Head of the LaoBorder Committee and Chairman of the Laos-Vietnam Joint Committee forBorder Markers Placement attended the meeting.

Atthe meeting, the two sides reviewed the planting of border markers inrecent years and discussed measures to complete the marker system alongthe Vietnam-Laos borderline by 2012.

The two sides’representatives highly valued cooperative results between the twocountries in 2011. This year, joint working teams have placed 489markers and located the sites for 662 others.

Onthe occasion, the two sides signed a Framework Protocol on the sharedborder line and national bordermarkers between the two countries and aRegulation on describing the location, direction of the national borderbetween Vietnam and Laos to serve the compilation of a Protocol on theVietnam-Laos border line and national markers./.

Vietnamese, Lao foreign ministers hold online talks

The two ministers agreed to maintain close coordination in the time ahead and to expand cooperation under the new framework and orientation, underscoring the significance of the two countries’ “great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, strategic cohesion”.

10th session helps strengthen public trust in personnel work, NA’s supreme oversight

Personnel consolidation carried out at the NA's 10th session helps ensure continuous, unified, effective, and efficient leadership of the state apparatus; guarantee smooth and uninterrupted direction and governance; and prevent any leadership gaps in critical areas. All positions elected or approved by the legislature meet the key criteria required within the organisational structure.
