Moscow (VNA) – The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and Russia’s TASS news agency opened a photo exhibition on the two-decade strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia at the headquarters of the Russian Federation Council in Moscow on December 1.

Visiting Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko attended the event.

Held on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the declaration on the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia during the first official visit to Vietnam by Russian President Vladimir Putin on March 1, 2001, the exhibition featured 20 photos captured by VNA and TASS reporters.

The photos were arranged chronologically, reflecting the latest period in the history of friendship and cooperation between the two nations and covering the topics of politics, economy, military, culture, among others.

This is the fourth photo exhibition jointly organised by VNA and TASS. All the exhibitions have affirmed the role of VNA and TASS as the leading media agency in each country as well as the leading agencies in providing information on the relations between the two countries and outstanding events in Russia-Vietnam ties.

The three previous exhibitions were held successfully and received praise. The first joint photo exhibition took place in Hanoi on October 30, 2010 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries. It was held within the framework of the visit to Vietnam by then Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.

The second was held on November 12, 2013 to mark 55 years of cooperation between the two news agencies, within the framework of Russian Cultural Days in Vietnam and on the occasion of the Vietnam visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The third was held on November 19, 2018 to mark the 60th anniversary of the signing of a cooperation agreement between TASS and VNA (October 13, 1958), within the framework of the visit to Vietnam by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev./.
