Moscow (VNA) – First Secretary of the Ho Chi MinhCommunist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee Le Quoc Phong met with Presidentof the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) Nicolas Papademetriou inSochi, Russia, on October 16.

Phong said the Vietnamese delegation isparticipating in the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi in aresponsible manner, which began on October 14 and lasts for nine days.
 
It prepared to discuss the 35 topics and engagedin other activities of the festival, which the HCYU considers as an importantexternal activity and an occasion to connect with youth organisations aroundthe world.

Papademetriou valued Vietnam’s engagement in thefestival and expressed his hope that the country will host the event in thefuture.

WFDY President Papademetriou told Vietnam NewsAgency that Vietnam has the potential to hold a world festival of youth andstudents as it has continually received support from the WFDY.

Also on October 16, Vietnamese delegates joinedtheir global peers in a ceremony honouring the values of Russia’s OctoberRevolution and socialism.

Aside from panel discussions, the festival inSochi also featured a technology exhibition and a show of traditional costumesand cultural identities of participating countries.-VNA

Vietnam Customs expands capacity to tackle cross-border narcotics crime
