War veterans remember 1968 General Offensive

More than 500 war veterans who were involved in the General Offensive and Uprising of Mau Than Spring in 1968 gathered in the central city of Hue on Feb. 2 to mark the event’s 45th anniversary.
More than 500 war veterans who were involved in the General Offensiveand Uprising of Mau Than Spring in 1968 gathered in the central city ofHue on Feb. 2 to mark the event’s 45th anniversary.

The delegates were moved when watching documentary films reflecting combative and courageous spirit in those past days.

Earlier, on Feb. 1, a get-together was held in the city amongrevolutionary veterans, former commanders and local residents who tookpart in the 1968 General Offensive.-VNA

The materials include a reproduction of the front page of the August 24, 1945 issue of Cuu Quoc (National Salvation) Newspaper, its first publicly printed edition after previously being secretly circulated in handwritten form, featuring the Vietnamese national flag; and documents and reports on Nguyen Ai Quoc's activities related to the establishment and orientation of the Communist Party of Annam.
