Workers, employers get help in pandemic response

The Government has issued a resolution on support for pandemic-hit workers and employers, and the aid will be sourced from the unemployment insurance fund.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Government has issued aresolution on support for pandemic-hit workers and employers, and the aid willbe sourced from the unemployment insurance fund.

Workerswho benefit from this policy are those who are covered by unemploymentinsurance as of September 30, 2021, excluding employees in State agencies, politicalorganisations, socio-political organisations, units of the people’s armedforces, and non-business public agencies which are paid by the State budget.

They alsoinclude workers who have stopped contributing to unemployment insurance due tothe termination of their labour contracts or working contracts between January1, 2020 and September 30, 2021, and have unemployment insurance contributionperiod reserved in accordance with legal regulations on employment, excludingretirees who receive monthly pensions.

The aid,about 30 trillion VND (1.317 billion USD) sourced from the unemploymentinsurance fund, will be delivered from October 1 and completed by December 31 atthe latest.

Meanwhile, the reduction of contributions tothe unemployment insurance fund is applied to the employers regulated inArticle 43 of the Employment Law, excluding State agencies, politicalorganisations, socio-political organisations, units of the people’s armedforces, and non-business public agencies which are paid by the State budget, which are taking part in unemploymentinsurance before October 1, 2021.

Those employers are entitled to a reduction in unemployment insurancecontributions from 1 percent to zero percent of the monthly salary fund for theworkers covered by unemployment insurance. The reduction will last for 12months, from October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022./.

Two wanted for abusing religious cover to undermine national unity policy

The fugitives are Di (also known as Siu Di), born in 1941, and Dinh Yum (also known as Dinh Jum or Ba Koih), born in 1963, from Ba Na ethnic minority group in Gia Lai province, and hold Vietnamese nationality. They have been charged under Clause 1, Article 116 of the Penal Code for undermining the national unity policy.

Support delivered to Khmer households for traditional New Year

The province's delegation of National Assembly deputies, in coordination with relevant agencies, presented 600 gifts across 11 communes, including 100 in Tap Son commune and 50 in each of the others. The programme, worth 300 million VND (11,300 USD), was funded by Agribank’s Vinh Long branch.
