HCM City leaders pay tribute to war martyrs

HCM City (VNA) –
A delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, People’s Committee, People’s Council and Vietnam Fatherland Front on April 26 paid homage to fallen soldiers at local martyrs’ cemeteries on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the Liberation of South Vietnam and National Reunification, and 133rd May Day.

At the Ben Duoc temple, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Tran Luu Quang, representatives from departments, sectors and districts, and people from all walks of life offered incense and flowers to heroic Vietnamese mothers and war martyrs who laid down their lives during the resistant wars against France and US in the past.

Meanwhile, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Council Nguyen Thi Le led a delegation to pay tribute to fallen soldiers at the martyrs’ cemetery in District 9. They held a minute silence for the fallen soldiers.

The same day, the city’s leaders and local residents offered incense and flowers to late Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Ton Duc Thang at their Museums.-VNA
