Hanoi (VNA) - The Ministry of Transport has announced the opening of the Long Bien inland container depot (ICD) - the seventh of its kind in Vietnam’s northern region.
Located at the Sai Dong B Industrial Park in Hanoi’s Long Bien district, the 12-hectare port was invested in by the Hateco Logistics Joint Stock Company.
The company has been asked to complete procedures regarding land use rights and to ensure the firefighting system on the premises meets relevant standards prior to official operations beginning.
With 50,000 square metres for warehouses, the port is projected to handle about 135,000 TEUs each year.
According to the Vietnam Maritime Administration, the country is now home to eight container depots and 16 checkpoints with similar functions.
One port and nine checkpoints are in the south, while the central region is yet to have either./.
Hai Phong has first inland container depot
Deputy Transport Minister Nguyen Van Cong recently signed a decision on the opening of the Dinh Vu-Quang Binh Inland Container Depot (ICD) at the Dinh Vu Industrial Park in the northern port city of Hai Phong.
