15th NA Standing Committee convenes first session

Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Vuong Dinh Hue chaired the first session of the 15th NA Standing Committee on July 20, in which Tran Thanh Man was assigned to continue assuming the position as NA Permanent Vice Chairman.

Hanoi (VNA) – Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Vuong Dinh Huechaired the first session of the 15th NA Standing Committee on July20, in which Tran Thanh Man was assigned to continue assuming the positionas NA Permanent Vice Chairman.

Hue congratulated members of the NA Standing Committee ontheir election at the 15th legislature’s first plenum earlier the sameday.

The top legislator expressed his wish that each member willpromote their sense of responsibility, competence, intelligence and qualifications to build astrong NA Standing Committee and well fulfill all assigned tasks.

Hue also said he hoped NA Standing Committee members willdirect and organise the implementation of the full-term working programme, andthe action plan to carry out the 13th National Party Congress’s Resolution andResolution No. 161 of the 14th National Assembly dated April 8, 2021on the working programmes of the legislature, the State President, NA and Government agencies,the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy and the State Audit Office of Vietnam inthe 2016-2021 tenure./.

NA Standing Committee's key work agenda for 2026 approved

A major focus will be preparations for the election of deputies to the 16th NA and to People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term. The NASC will coordinate with the National Election Council, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and relevant agencies and organisations to continue implementing the election plan, organise oversight of the electoral process, and carry out its duties and powers as prescribed.
