Binh Phuoc (VNA) – Delegates from Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam (CLV) have come together at the 7th CLV youth forum, which opened in the southern province of Binh Phuoc on December 17. In his opening speech, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan highlighted the significance of the event, saying that it contributes to implementing the joint statement of the three nations’ Prime Ministers at the 9th CLV Summit in Siem Reap, Cambodia, last year.
With their role as the vanguard force of each country, young people need to be aware of their responsibility and actively participate in the socio-economic development in the CLV area, he said.
As part of the 11th Meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee of the CLV Development Triangle Area, the forum aims to discuss issues of common concern of the three countries’ youths, thus devising practical measures to realise their Governments’ commitments of regional cooperation, he added.
Seminars within the forum will focus on measures to promote the role played by regional youths in economic development; and how to enhance connection among young entrepreneurs, the involvement of young people in new rural development and voluntary activities.
Representatives from Laos and Cambodia said the even helps tighten relations among youth forces of the three nations, and provides a venue for young businesspeople to share their experience in start-up activities, contributing to fostering trade and tourism ties among the three nations.-VNA
