At their meeting on February 7, Director General of ADB's Southeast Asia Department J ames Nugent and Cambodian Minister of Economics and Finance Aun Pornmoniroth discussed measures to promote cooperation between ABD and the Cambodian Government in the coming time.

Accordingly, the bank will continue supporting Cambodia in carrying out the third phase of its long-term development strategy from 2014-2018, while supporting the upgrading of railway projects and other economic developments.

Meanwhile, ADB will also lend 310 million USD to Bangladesh to help the country upgrade its electricity infrastructure as part of 1.6 billion USD project to expand power systems and increase energy efficiency.

The project is expected to be completed in 2018, thus helping 450,000 households in the country access electricity and reduce carbon emissions by almost 2.5 million tonnes per year.-VNA
