- Party General Secretary To Lam stressed the crucial need for the highest political determination and consensus in awareness and actions among officials, Party members and people from all walks of life in realising the resolution of the 11th plenum of the 13th Party Central Committee during a national conference to popularise the resolution on April 16.

- National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has called for extensive public consultation on amendments to the 2013 Constitution from May 6 to June 5.

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on April 16 held a working meeting with his Lao counterpart Sonexay Siphandone, who is in Hanoi to attend the ongoing fourth Partnership for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit.

- Vietnam is a key partner of the Republic of Korea (RoK) in the latter's implementation of its foreign policy in the region, Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yul affirmed during his talks with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son in Hanoi on April 15.

Cho, who is paying an official visit to Vietnam and attending the fourth Partnership for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit, said that the RoK will work with Vietnam to successfully achieve their development goals for 2045. Read full story

- All urban and rural areas will be equipped with the most advanced 5G Massive MIMO (multi-antenna) technology, delivering high performance and preparing for next-generation digital services, stated Nguyen Dat, Deputy General Director of Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) at the GSMA Digital Nation Summit, held for the first time in Vietnam on April 15.

Dat said that the goal is to ensure equal access to technology for all citizens, regardless of geography, helping to bridge the digital divide and enabling the digital economy to contribute 30% of Vietnam’s GDP by 2030. Read full story

- An international conference on the prospects of Halal tourism development in Hanoi was held in the capital city on April 15.

Jointly organised by the Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism, the Institute for South Asian, West Asian, and African Studies (ISAWAAS) and the Vietnam Halal Certification Centre, the event attracted around 150 participants, including diplomats, experts, and major companies. - Asia Direct Cable (ADC), a fiber-optic submarine cable with a capacity of 50 Tbps – the largest in Vietnam, was put into operation in early April, according to the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group.

The ADC's capacity is equivalent to 125% of the total international connection capacity of the five existing submarine cable systems (IA, AAE-1, APG, AGG, and SMW-3). It also boasts higher speeds compared to previous systems. Read full story./.

NA deputies continue to discuss amendments to Constitution on May 14

The draft resolution to amend and supplement certain articles of the 2013 Constitution comprises two main articles. Article 1 outlines eight proposed amendments and additions to existing constitutional provisions, focusing on the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) and other socio-political organisations, administrative units, and the organisation of local government. Article 2 contains three clauses dealing with enforcement and transitional provisions of the amendments.
