- Vietnamese auto maker VinFast Auto Ltd. (VinFast) rang thebell to officially commence trading of its shares on the Nasdaq Global SelectMarket, the US, under the ticker symbol “VFS”.

With an equity value of over 23 billion USD, VinFast became thelargest Vietnamese company listed on the US stock market by marketcapitalisation. Read full story

- Vietnam’s coffee industry needs to take measures to adapt to anew European Union (EU) law that prevents the import of commodities linked todeforestation.

The law, passed in late June and will come into effect by theend of 2024, requires companies selling commodities into the EU to produce adue diligence statement and verifiable data proving their goods were not grownon land deforested after 2020. Read full story

- Surpassing Japan, China now ranks third amongthe countries and territories with significant investments in Vietnam since thebeginning of the year.

Data from the Ministry of Planning andInvestment’s Foreign Investment Agency (FIA) reveals that between January andJuly, Chinese investors registered over 2.33 billion USD in Vietnam, hence thethird position. Moreover, with the number of new projects put intoconsideration, China holds the top rank with 325. Read full story

- The trend of sustainable consumption, withenvironmentally friendly products, has received increasing attention in Vietnamand created an influence on the production and distribution system.

From his practical experience, CEO of Go/BigCSystem in Hanoi and the northern region Le Manh Phong said that over the recentyears, the trend of sustainable consumption in the country has been becomingmore and more obvious, as a product with an environmentally friendly productionor packaging process often brings more advantages to the business in itscompetition. Read full story

- The National Agricultural Extension Centre(NAEC) has initiated several organic rice production projects in localities,which are gaining more favour for their clean products, lower production costs,and contributions to land improvement and enhanced grain value.

The organic rice production model, coupled withproduct consumption links, has so far been deployed in the north-centralprovinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, and Quang Tri, spanning an area of 240 hectares. Read full story

- The police at the Da Nang InternationalAirport in the central city of Da Nang officially put four automatic entrysystems (Autogate) into operation on August 15 to facilitate the entry oftravelers and speed up immigration procedures.

Vietnam, Russia issue joint statement on further strengthening ties in new period

In the statement, Vietnam and Russia clarified concrete measures to bolster their cooperation in specific fields, including political and diplomatic affairs, defence and security, economy and trade, fuel and energy, transport, industry and agriculture, science – technology, education – training, health care, and people-to-people exchanges.

Top leader suggests turning sci-tech cooperation into new pillar of Vietnam–Russia ties

The top leader expressed his belief that building on the traditional friendship, high political trust, Russia’s scientific and technological capabilities, and Vietnam’s strong determination to innovate and develop, cooperation in science, technology and innovation can fully become a new driving force, a new pillar and a new symbol of bilateral relations in the 21st century.

NA President meets Vietnamese community members in Mongolia

Turkey hails Vietnam’s growing international standing
